Ultimate Rehydrating Watermelon Slushie

There’s something so invigorating and healing about the summer sun, so picnics and outdoorsy activities become the new norm. Somehow we’re always hungry; or maybe it isn’t really hunger? Lunch was only an hour ago but after being out in the sun I’m kind of ready for a boost. Dry crackers, pretzels or even a protein bar just ‘aint gonna cut it. Studies show that many people mistaken hunger for thirst, and being out in the sun can cause us to think we’re hungry for food when all we really need is to hydrate!

Welcome to the world of watermelon slushie! You’ve just found the perfect pick-me-up snack for you, your family and guests! Cold, refreshing and super hydrating, this watermelon slushie is the perfect snack that will leave everyone recharged and all smiles! 

8 cups Seedless Watermelon Cubes, frozen for at least 24 hours

1 1/3 cup sparkling water

1-2 tbsp agave syrup* or sweetener of your choice

Juice of 1 medium lemon or lime


First, let the Frozen Watermelon chunks sit at room temperature for 5-10 minutes to defrost some. Then, add the watermelon, agave syrup, lime juice, and sparkling water to a high-speed blender. Pulsate the blender until you reach your desired slushie consistency. 

Tip for Kids! (and adults too!-Hey-we love kids stuff too! 🙂

Replace the sparkling water with orange juice and skip the agave syrup or other sweetener. Your kids will be gozzling down this slushie! And mom, you can feel great knowing the they are rehydrating with the watermelon and the little ones are getting in some more Vitamen C, antioxiants.
